The institute's board of trustees
The Max Planck Institute of Neurobiology and its neighboring institute, the Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry, have a shared board of trustees. Members are elected to the board for a six-year term and represent for the institutes important areas from politics, economy, science and media. The board of trustees creates a connection between the institutes' research and the public and advises the institutes in social and science-political issues.
The board of trustees of the two Max Planck Institutes convenes once a year and is comprised as follows:
