Library of the Max Planck Institutes in Martinsried

The communal library of the Max Planck Institute of Neurobiology and the Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry is a scientifically specialzed library. The holding matches the requirements of the two institutes. The library is stocked with specialized literature for the research areas of the institutes: biochemistry, structural biology, protein chemistry, neurosciences, cell biology and molecular biology.

The library currently holds about 61,000 books and magazin collections, as well as about 115 current scientific journals. The entire holding is found in the online catalouge.

In addition to the printed materials, the library offers a multitude of electronic information. The institutes' staff has access to more than 30,000 online journals and to major databases.

The library's primary goal is to support the institutes' scientists. However, during the opening hours the library is also open for all scientifically interested persons.
