The Max Planck Institute of Neurobiology conducts fundamental scientific research. This means that when performing their experiments, the scientists take science to its very limits. They have to grapple daily with with completely new concepts and techniques. Even though many experiments do not succeed – partly because the apparatus required has yet to be invented – they must press on regardless in their search for solutions to scientific and technical problems. The service facilities on the Max Planck Campus not only support the scientists in their laboratories and everyday office routine but also with the organization of day-to-day life.
