Information for families
Successfully integrating into life in Germany depends significantly on whether you are able to combine work and family life without stress and without having bad feeling. In order to help families in this regard, the Max Planck Institute of Neurobiology offers support in different areas.
Family Service for members of the Max Planck Society
The Family Service "Besser Betreut GmbH" is an external and independent advisory and placement service that supports and assists the employees of the Max Planck Institute of Neurobiology.
The service provides advice and assistance for
- Childcare: in-house child care, school, holiday activities etc.
- Senior care: support in cases of illness and of nursing care
- Pet, house and garden care
The consultations are carried out in English, but are also available in other languages if requested. They are free of charge.
Daycare facilities (Kinderkrippen and Kindergärten)
There are two daycare facilities on campus:
The Biokids is a daycare facility for children between six months and six years of age. Employees of the MPI of Neurobiology can fill a number of spots at the Biokids.
The Klopferspitzchen is a parent initiated nursery school for toddlers between 12 months and three years of age.
In addition, there are a number of daycare facilities in Marinsried, Munich or likely in the neighborhood of the place you choose to live.
