Translation from mouse to human: Gut microbiota in Multiple Sclerosis

To extend our model findings to the human disease, this group cooperates with the Institute of Clinical Neuroimmunology. This work is based on a clinical trial of twin pairs discordant for MS. The trial involves microbial profiling of fecal samples in search for disease related changes. At the same time, paired samples are fed to germfree RR mice to examine disease triggering potential of the microbiota.
